About Jennifer Fan

Jennifer Fan was born in 1990 in Hong Kong. After attending St. Paul's Convent School for
twelve years, she currently goes to Phillips Academy Andover in Massachusetts, USA. She
first tried Chinese Painting when she was eight, when she had difficulty in holding the
paint brush. She gradually improved after seven years of learning under Master Lam Yat
Chi, her Chinese Painting teacher until now. At school she is the founder and president of
the Ink Oasis Club, in which she teaches club members to paint Chinese Painting, then
selling the artwork afterwards to fundraise for a medical clinic in rural China.
Jennifer has attained several awards in Chinese Painting, including the Gold Medal in the
17th Annual All-American Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy Competition and the
third and second in the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Competition
2005 and 2007 respectively.
